Dear Supporter of the Center for Speech and Language Disorders,
Imagine living in a world where words have no meaning and simple conversation is a struggle. Imagine that you want a glass of orange juice and the only way to communicate that need is to point to the refrigerator door. Imagine saying "hello" to a friend, but not knowing to look at them when extending the gesture. Imagine dazzling people with your genius, and at other times frustrating them with your lack of language, poor social skills, and unusual behavior. Imagine having difficulty reading and writing and how that would affect you socially, academically and vocationally. Imagine what your world would be like if you could not speak, understand language, socialize with your peers, or use literacy skills.
Excellent therapy can shape a child's future. Please reflect for a moment and imagine how your donation can help make a difference in the lives of many with special needs here at the CSLD. We would not have been able to do what we have done, or think about ways of moving the Center for Speech and Language Disorders into the future, without the continued private and corporate support of our mission by the Chicagoland community.
The needs of our community are increasing each year and insurance support is lessening. We cannot continue our work without you. CSLD receives no federal or state support and relies solely on private payment, insurance, and the generosity of our donors. We use each dollar that you donate to CSLD to help defray costs of deficit-funded programs in order to keep them vital and growing. Our Social Communication and Literacy Programs are some examples of services that we could not continue to provide to the community if you didn't lend us a hand.
We believe that communication is a basic human need and right. I ask you to help guarantee that the Center for Speech and Language Disorders remain a community resource for a long time to come. Please help us help others.
I thank you in advance for your donation and ongoing support.
Karine Fiore, Executive Director

Gifts of Cash
You can make an outright gift of cash. The quickest and easiest way is on-line giving. Online gifts are processed through a secure network to ensure that your data is confidential. If you would prefer to mail your donation, simply print the donation form and mail it with your gift, to our office.
For more information on how your donation can help; please contact us today.
Your gift can be a tribute in honor or memory of someone. At a time of great joy or the loss of a friend, relative or colleague, it is often appropriate to make a charitable contribution. This can also be a meaningful tribute to a special person, honoring them by celebrating their life or achievements. By making your gift in their name you ensure that your tribute will benefit special-needs children. Click the Donate button below to make your donation a tribute to someone special. When asked for special instructions during the checkout process please provide the name and address of the person who should receive the tribute acknowledgement. If you would prefer to mail your donation, simply print the donation form and mail it, with your gift, to our office.
You can leave a gift to CSLD in your will. Click here to learn how.
Gifts of Securities
Stocks or other investments that have grown in value can become a substantial gift made at a small net cost to you. You receive a charitable deduction for the donation of these assets based on their fair market value on the date of the gift. In addition, you avoid all federal capital gains tax that would otherwise be due on the sale of the assets.
Gifts That Provide Income for Life
Many givers find themselves in a position of holding assets that would make important gifts at some time in the future but are currently required to provide for present needs. By placing such property into a charitable remainder trust, a unique gift arrangement can be made that would provide income to you and your beneficiaries. At the end of a specified period (such as the donor’s or the beneficiary’s lifetime) the remainder of the trust’s assets would be transferred to us.
We can work with you and your financial advisor to determine which form of giving is best for you.
