Lynn Scheuer Kozak
Lynn graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo with a Master of Arts in Communication Disorders and Sciences in September of 2001, following which she began her career at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center as a speech-language pathologist and later as Director of Literacy and Specialized Programs. Lynn gained a wide variety of experience while at the Center, providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients of all ages and disorders across multiple settings including clinic, preschool, elementary school, nursing home, day habilitation, and hospitals.
Beginning in 2004, she researched, developed, and wrote multiple, intensive language/literacy curriculums for students ages 3 – high school. Today the resultant Language to Literacy Programs serve hundreds of students yearly with language and reading deficits and run nationally in four locations. Lynn helped shape the specialized program arm of BHSC collaborating on key social communication, auditory processing, cognitive, pediatric dysphasia, and sensory motor programming. She also oversaw and grew contract services, providing high quality and collaborative speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social work services to community schools and organizations. She moved to Chicago and joined the Center for Speech and Language Disorders team as Executive Director in May 2012. Since that time, Lynn has been focused on continuing to provide the excellent programming CSLD always has, while expanding service offerings in the clinics and creating partnerships with local schools.
Lynn has lectured nationally and is frequently out in the community providing in-services and continuing education courses for parents and professionals on a variety of topics such as language, literacy, auditory processing, articulation, and social communication skills. Lynn lives in Chicago and enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
Director of Operations and Administration
Jackie Seiner joined the CSLD team as the Director of Operations and Administration in the summer of 2016. Jackie has a B.S. degree in Community Health Education from Western Illinois University where she graduated from in 2004. Jackie brings to the team over 10 years for experience working in the nonprofit sector as an educator and a manager. She has taught numerous students, teachers and parents. As a Manager and member of the leadership team her skills expanded into IT, HR, hiring, training and successfully leading a team of employees. She wears many hats at CSLD, overseeing operational and administrative functions, including finance, facilities, compliance, technology, human resources, and development.
Clinical & Contract Supervisor
Sara Belczak graduated from Northwestern University with a Master of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences in June of 2012, following which she began her career at the Center for Speech and Language Disorders as a speech-language pathologist. Sara has gained a wide variety of experience while at the Center, providing comprehensive assessment and treatment for patients of all ages across multiple settings including clinic, elementary and high schools. She has provided services for a wide array of clients with various disorders including: Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Specific Language Impairments, Voice disorders, Stuttering, Down syndrome, and Auditory Processing Disorders. In addition, Sara has taught and overseen the CSLD’s specialized language to literacy and social communication programs.
In the summer of 2015, Sara took on the role as Clinic & Contract Supervisor allowing her to continue providing services in addition to mentoring, supervising, and training her fellow clinicians at CSLD. Sara has been able to travel to all of CSLD’s school contracts (20+ campuses) and both clinics to collaborate with her co-workers and insure CSLD’s high standard of excellence is consistent across all of our services.
Sara grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. She currently lives in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. She loves attending sporting and alumni events with her friends & family at her undergraduate alma mater, University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (Oskee Wow Wow ?). Sara is also a huge foodie and loves spending time in the kitchen and exploring all of great cuisine Chicago has to offer.
